The Hickory Soup Kitchen has generated three separate services to help the homeless.  In 1986, the Family Care Center was started.  The center finds temporary housing for needy families and is now a separate, stand-alone, self-supported entity.

A medical facility opened in office space in the Soup Kitchen in 1992.  Medical supplies, equipment, and office furniture were donated by local doctors, hospitals and medical supply companies.  Grant monies and financial support from the soup kitchen enabled the clinic to operate with volunteer doctors and nurses.  It is now a part of the Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry.

The Hickory Soup Kitchen has also provided food and financial support for a soup kitchen in the nearby community of Newton, NC.  The Corner Table of Newton  began operation in 2002.
